LAGOS, (CAJ News) – CONTROVERSIAL church leader, Temitope Balogun ‘TB’ Joshua, has lurched into another coronavirus (COVID-19) storm after claims he can cure the virus.
A medical doctor from Cameroon has made the claims in favour of the Nigerian-born pastor.
Dr Kameni Pierre, a gynecologist and obstetrician, claimed he had been healed via video during an interactive programme on Emmanuel TV, run by Joshua’s church.
Pierre has shown a document said to be his medical report, proving he was negative.
“As a medical doctor, I know what it means to be a COVID-19 patient. I would like to advise the nations all over the world not to panic in the face of this virus,” he is quoted as saying in the video.
“Move close to anointed men of God like Prophet TB Joshua. They will pray for you. God will be glorified and this COVID-19 will become a memory,” Kameni added, speaking in French.
In his comments on his official social media pages, Joshua called on people to “run to God”.
“Let us run to God to put an end to this crisis and panic that has enveloped the world,” he stated.
It is not the first time Joshua has been at the centre of COVID controversy.
Earlier this year, he proclaimed the virus would end in some days.
However, it has surged since then to infect more than ten million people globally and resulted in over 500 000 deaths.
