Mashale appointed new Nexio CEO

JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – MICKEY Mashale, a prominent female leader in the country’s technology sector, has assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer at South Africa’s Nexio on a permanent basis.

The appointment is effective August 1.

Mashale has been acting in that position at the leading digital system aggregator and solution provider since March this year.

She joined the organisation from Vodacom where she held the position of Chief Sales Officer for Vodacom Business since February 2018.

“We are pleased to welcome Ms Mickey Mashale as the new Chief Executive Officer of Nexio,” William Mzimba, Nexio board chairperson, said.

Mzimba lauded Mashale as one of the industry’s distinguished female business thought leaders.

“During her reign as interim acting CEO, Mickey has demonstrated a range of industry experience that has already produced positive results for the company, employees, stakeholders and its customers.”

Mashale was previously the Managing Executive and Head of Region for Vodafone Global Enterprise.

She was responsible for strategy, revenue retention, growth and expansion of Vodafone customers, for the Sub-Saharan region.

Mashale boasts over two decades of experience in the industry.

“I look forward to taking up the position at such an exciting time where the company is on a digital journey to enable and transform its customer experience as a trusted IT partner for the digital future,” she said.

Mashale will lead a team tasked with driving the company’s digital transformation strategy.
