JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – SALESFORCE reports a significant increase in artificial intelligence (AI) adoption and excitement among desk workers, with daily AI usage higher by 233 percent in six months.
These are the findings of the cloud-based software company’s latest Slack Workforce Index.
The survey of 5 000 global desk workers established that AI had emerged as a clear competitive advantage, as workers who use AI daily prove to be 64 percent more productive and 81 percent more satisfied with their job than colleagues not using AI.
The index reveals that workers are using AI to level up, going beyond just automating tasks.
Some 96 percent of workers have used AI to perform tasks they previously did not have the skills to do themselves, and today’s workers are 154 percent more likely to turn to AI agents to help them perform tasks better and more creatively, rather than to just simply automate their work.
“AI adoption is accelerating rapidly, and it’s changing the way the world works for the better,” said Peter Doolan, Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer at Slack, Salesforce.
“As more workers embrace AI, businesses are able to unlock greater productivity and value, and help their employees focus on work that drives real impact and growth,” he added.
Agentforce is Salesforce’s AI agent platform, designed to help companies build and deploy autonomous AI agents to support employees and customers.
Haley Gault, Senior Account Executive, Salesforce, said: “Agentforce helps me work smarter, not just faster.”
“I use it to think more strategically, communicate more clearly, and approach every customer interaction with greater confidence. It’s changing how I work — and how I deliver for customers.”
Salesforce’s study was fielded between April and May, 2025.
