JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – THE Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the dtic) will lead a delegation of 30 South African companies to the fourth Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF), scheduled for 4–10 September 2025 in Algiers, Algeria.
The IATF is the continent’s premier platform to boost intra-African trade, connecting businesses, investors, and policymakers.
Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, Zuko Godlimpi, said the fair will promote South Africa’s goods and services, attract investment, and advance the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
He emphasized Algeria’s strategic importance as Africa’s third-largest economy, noting the need for stronger bilateral trade links.
“The trade fair will foster small and medium enterprise partnerships, regional value chain integration, and export diversification,” Godlimpi added.
The event, which previously took place in Cairo, Durban, and Cairo again, is expected to draw over 35,000 attendees and 1,600 exhibitors across key sectors including agriculture, ICT, automotive, and energy.
