ACCRA, (CAJ News) – THE recently-concluded Global Africa Summit (GAS) marked a transformative milestone in uniting Africa and its global Diaspora under a vision of progress and partnership.
Held at the Catholic University of America, the inaugural summit (Washington edition) convened more than 300 influential delegates from across Africa, North America, the Caribbean, Europe and beyond.
Themed “Global Partnerships: Fueling Africa’s Development and Collective Prosperity,” the summit served as a powerful platform for cross-continental collaboration, policy dialogue and investment mobilisation bridging ideas and action to accelerate Africa’s growth and integration into the global economy.
Highlights included goodwill remarks from Aisha Braveboy, Prince George’s County Executive and a keynote on “Bridging Continents: Africa and Its Diaspora in Shared Prosperity,” delivered by Kofi Okyere-Darko, Director, Diaspora Affairs Office of the President of Ghana.
The summit culminated in the GAS Dinner Gala.
Honorees included Ndidi Nwuneli, President and CEO of the One Campaign (Global Africa Leadership Award Recipient) and Dr. Michael Obeng, Plastic Surgeon and Founder Miko Pharma and RESTORE Worldwide (Ubuntu Humanitarian Award Recipient).
Clarence Wooten, X (Google X) received the Diaspora Catalyst Award and Clinton White, CEO of Global Consular Solutions was honoured with the Nkrumah Pan-African Impact Award.
Sinafik Gebru, Co-Founder of Birara Genet was the Rising Africa Award recipient.
The GAS will continue, beginning with Accra, Ghana (December 11–12, 2025), followed by 2026 editions currently under consideration in Toronto, Los Angeles, Charlotte, Atlanta and Nassau.
