DURBAN, (CAJ News) – THE Sapphire Coast Marathon has officially been recognized as a KwaZulu-Natal Athletics 42,2km Championship.
Scheduled for Amanzimtoti this coming weekend, is also a Comrades and Two Oceans Marathons qualifier.
“We’re incredibly proud of how this event continues to grow,” said Dore Uys of Amanzimtoti Athletics Club.
“The addition of the KZNA Championship and live streaming elevates the Sapphire Coast Marathon to a new level, while our dedicated pacers and community partnerships make it a truly inclusive and memorable experience for every runner.”
The Sapphire Coast race has welcomed four experienced pacers who will guide runners on the day.
They are Simphiwe “Mshishi” Mngwengwe, Umar Randeree, Sbo Zindela and Njabulo Zuma.
This year’s marathon also introduces live streaming in partnership with Sapphire Coast Media.
Romy Wenzel of Sapphire Coast Tourism said the Sapphire Coast Marathon showcased athletic excellence and the incredible spirit of the local community.
“From pacers and volunteers to sponsors and supporters, this event reflects what makes the Sapphire Coast so special,” Wenzel said.
