How to book an Online Appointment – Home Affairs South Africa. Department of DHA Home Affairs Branch Appointment Booking System (BABS) allows clients to make an electronic booking for selected services like :

  • ID Applications
  • Passport Applications
  • Birth Certificates.
  • ID Card Collection
  • Passport Collection
  • Marriage Certificate collection
  • Birth Certificate collectionPre-booked clients will be serviced at dedicated counters. Please note you will need to book an appointment to collect the relevant document you would have applied for as well. The system also allows clients to cancel or reschedule appointments.





The system only allows clients with valid South African ID numbers to make bookings.

Department of DHA Home Affairs Branch Appointment Booking System Process

To book an appointment, visit www.dha.gov.za and click on BABS.  To book an appointment, follow the following process:

  1. Open DHA eHomeAffairs Booking Appointment Portal https://services.dha.gov.za/#/authenticate/identity
  2. Enter your ID Number and click next:

    Uers are asked to enter their other personal details, including:

    • Full name and surname;

    • Cell phone number;

    • Email address (optional)”

  3. Select A Booking Slot
