The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) will be disbursing SRD grant payments to approved applicants between March 25th and March 29th, 2024. This four-day window falls within the last week of the month because SASSA excludes weekends and public holidays from their social grant payout schedule.
How to Receive Your SRD Grant
SASSA offers multiple convenient options for receiving your SRD grant:
1. Direct Bank Deposit:
This is the fastest and most secure method. Your grant amount will be deposited directly into your nominated bank account, allowing for immediate access to the funds. Ensure you have provided SASSA with your accurate bank account details during the application process.
2. Cash Send:
This option caters to beneficiaries who lack a personal bank account. To utilize Cash Send, you’ll need to have:
- Your South African ID number
- Your phone number
- A registered cellphone in your name
- Proof of identification (your ID book or card)
3. Retail Pickup
For those who prefer a physical collection method, SASSA partners with various retail stores nationwide for SRD grant disbursement. You can collect your R350 grant at participating locations of:
- Pick n Pay
- Checkers
- Shoprite
- Boxer
Important Note: When collecting your grant at a retail store, always carry a valid form of identification (your ID book or card) for verification purposes.
SASSA SRD Increase in April 2024
There will be an increase of the SRD grant amount starting in April 2024. The social relief of distress grant will increase by R20 or 5.7% from 1 April 2024
