Summit sets standards for tech, innovation on Africa

JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) EXPERTS are exploring groundbreaking innovation and research to address challenges facing the African continent.

The 27 international and local speakers presented on such solutions in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI), biotechnology, energy, food, the future of work, leadership, medicine, robotics, technology and water in the just-concluded SingularityU South Africa Summit.

Held in Johannesburg, the third annual edition attracted a full capacity audience of over 1 500 people.

Organisers said the summit surpassed all expectations.

“We assembled an outstanding line up of thought leaders and domain experts to address Africa’s most pressing challenges and showcase the ground-breaking technologies that are available to take the continent forward,” said Mic Mann, co-Chief Executive Officer of SingularityU South Africa.

He expressed excitement at the outcome.

“We are thrilled that the insights and information presented resonated with the audience,” Mann said.

The SingularityU South Africa Summit 2019 was hosted in collaboration with The Development Bank of Southern Africa, global partner Deloitte, and strategic partners MTN and Absa.
