JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – AS the Carling Black Label knockout enters the quarter final stage, some big names in the South African football are already missing in action confirming soccer today is always full of surprises that give heart attacks.

To date, the biggest scalps to suffer humiliation and early exit are the Tshwane football giants Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United, who bowed out in the first huddle of the tournament.

Sundowns, who are the defending premiership champions were booted out of the tournament 5-4 in penalties by TS Galaxy after the two sides settled for a 2 – 2 draw in both regulation and extra-time.

As it never rained but poured for the Pretoria premiership teams, Supersport United were humiliated at their backyard when thrashed 4-1 by visiting Polokwane City to leave the capital city without any representative in the tournament.

Former cup kings, and Soweto giant – Kaizer Chiefs were embarrassed 0-1 by visiting AmaZulu FC in a tight but thrilling encounter at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.

As that was not enough, another Soweto giant, Moroka Swallows were beaten by youthful Richards Bay 2-1 while Cape Town City were sent packing 3-1 by Golden Arrows.

Sekhukhune United narrowly edged visiting Royal AmaZulu 1 – 0 while Chippa United were beaten 1 – 2 by Stellenbosch.
